The ransomware group WALocker has launched a major cyberattack targeting multiple global victims, including government bodies and private organizations. A particularly significant breach targeted Myanmar’s Union Civil Service Board, resulting in the exposure of sensitive data belonging to approximately 200,000 government officials. These officials span various sectors such as police, immigration, taxation, customs, judiciary, and defense-related facilities .

The leaked information allegedly includes national ID details, educational records, confidential state documents, and potentially state secrets.

Intriguingly, the leaked data appears to list officials who did not join the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM)—a major act of protest against Myanmar’s military junta. This information could be strategically used by the National Unity Government (NUG) to identify and expose current regime-affiliated officials. The data could be cleaned, organized, and published securely to increase public transparenc
