Kuta and the Beach

About 6-7 years ago when I was about 6 or 7 when we travelled to Bali, I met an older teen or young adult who was life guard in the beach of Kuta, nice dude, tall and pretty cool. He was an incredible surfer and I mean it, I remember he would surf off of the waves with ease. He even taught me on how to surf, swim and enjoy the beach. Though it was a short moment. I appreciated his friendly nature... Despite the fact that when I tried to stand on the surfboard when the waves pulled back, my 6-7 year old me, whose ankle was attached with a brace by the surfboard, fell into the streaming salty waters. Face first, nose in wet sand, as the waves dragged me to the shore as my 7 year old head was roughly dragged under the water.
It was fun!
